From Bieber to Cotillard in One Month

From Bieber to Cotillard in One Month

Left: Justin Beiber... how I currently look... Right: Marion Cotillard: how I want to look... in one month

… or how to grow your hair fast….

So it’s that time of year. Summer is coming to a close and fall is just around the corner. There seems to be this seasonal flow of hair that I go through every year, and I’m sure about a million other girls go through it as well. The second that spring starts to fade away and summer starts blazing in, I chop off my hair. Then, when the leaves start turning and the air is getting crisp, I want my hair to be long again… instantly. I change my hair a lot and I change it often, and it usually seems to be weather related.

On top of the weather change, this year also seems to be the year of the wedding. The fourth wedding I will be attending this year is in the first week of October and I want to curl my hair. At first, I wasn’t worried about my hair as much as my dress for the wedding, but then, my betrothed friends asked me to be the host of the wedding. Basically, this means that I will be greeting every single guest, making sure they sign the guest book, making sure they know where to go, collecting the gifts, and answering questions etc. I will be the first person everyone sees at the wedding. I am the first impression of this wedding… and I look like Justin Bieber. Read more »

The Never Ending Split Ends Saga

Split Ends | Damaged Hair

Icky Split Ends

How to Know if you have a Split Ends Problem/ The Billy Murray Status:

Your alarm clock goes off. You get out of bed and trudge to the bathroom. You look in the mirror and grab the ends of your hair, which are frazzled, frayed, and fried. You then say “oh man… I need a trim…”. You get a trim. Two weeks later…

WAKE UP! Does this sound like you? Are you constantly looking at your drab ends and getting your hair trimmed? Well, it’s good that you’re getting your hair trimmed to try to keep it healthy, but obviously that isn’t working, which can be especially frustrating when you’re Read more »

Business in the Front, Party in the Back!

Billy the Exterminator & Billy Ray Cyrus - MULLET POWER!

Left: Billy the Exterminator & The Modern Mullet - Right: Billy Ray Cyrus & The Original Mullet

I hadn’t really realized how much I’ve been missing out on. Now that I’m at a house that has cable TV, I’m starting to catch up. Everyone would always wonder how I managed to live without cable, and my response would be something like “I don’t have time to watch that much TV”. Now that I’m single though, I DO have a lot more time… haha.

Anyway, my sister enjoys watching some really… ahem… interesting programs. Thus far, the most… intriguing one would have to be Billy the Exterminator. Oh. My. Goodness.

Some background on the show: Billy is an exterminator who travels around Louisiana taking care of people’s critter problems. Words cannot capture the brilliance of this man. It truely is something Read more »

Hard Water Times

Sooooo…. here’s the story.

After two years and three months my boyfriend and I have split. The result? Me living with my mother again, which hasn’t happend in about 4 years.
Also simultaneously occuring? My parents divorce. It’s interesting times these… 2010 sure is kicking off with a bang…

Staying with my mom again isn’t so bad… well … except for one thing. HARD WATER. Oh. My. Goodness.

The first day I’m down there I go to take a shower… and my hair literally HURT. I shampoo my hair once… and it just doesn’t feel good. I shampoo again… and it feels WORSE. So I throw on a healthy, well, more than healthy, does of conditioner. I mean, I REALLY put too much conditioner on. I wait my 3-5 minutes, and then rinse. NO IMPROVEMENT. No seriously. It was like not only the world, but now also my hair Read more »

Roffler Thickening Shampoo

Okay, so I know I promised this a long time ago… apologies for my un-intended hiatus… will explain in the next blog which I PROMISE will not take me three weeks to write.

So. Roffler. If you’re not familiar with this company, they’ve been around for years, decades even. Their main focus has been Men’s Grooming Products (it just sounds weird to say Men’s Beauty Products…). Their entire line was devoted to Men, I mean, one of their shampoos is called “Mountain Sage” AND they offer an amazing, concentrated shave cream.

Men seriously love their Roffler products. A big factor for most guys when it comes to buying, well… anything really, is Cost. And that’s really the great thing about Roffler. They have THE most affordable Salon Hair Products I’ve seen on the market. Seriously. Check out their prices.

The other reason guys love their Roffler products, is because they WORK. Watch out! They’re simple, awesome hair products that do what they say, don’t break the bank, and are easy to use. You can Read more »

New & Improved Hair Products

Abba Products Before & After

Out with the old and in with the new! The products on top are the original Abba products, the products on the bottom are the NEW Abba products.

It seems like hair product companies just looooovvvvveee to change their hair products. Whether they’re re-packaging their products in fun, new, colorful bottles or updating and improving their formulas, it seems that change is not a four letter word in the hair care business.

But what does that mean for consumers? Usually it means frustration.

After years of using a particular product, you discover one day that it now looks completely different! The round, white bottle with green trim you have loved for years is now a pink, square bottle. Agh! Things get even more complicated when they decided to change the name of their product! Is it nourishing shampoo or gentle shampoo? Are the ingredients the same or different?

All of this change causes us to ask the question: Why?

Why are they changing their packaging and their names and their ingredients?

Well, the first two are easily explained: sales. Hair product companies are always Read more »

Shiny, Strong Hair…the Easy Way

Everyone seems to think that Shiny, Healthy, Strong hair is either unobtainable or extremely difficult to get. We’ve all seen the shampoo commercials with beautiful women that have AMAZING hair. I’m sure I’m not the only person who doubts the hair models actually use the brand of shampoo they’re selling. In fact, I’d bet all my money that they’ve never ever used the shampoo they’re selling.

The fact is, unless you’re part of the extremely small percentage of women who have naturally healthy, shiny, amazing hair (and if you fall into this category I’m extremely envious), you’re going to need Read more »

Lost Starts Tonight = More Sexy Beach Hair

Kate & Sawyer - New Season of Lost Starts TONIGHT!

Kate & Sawyer DEF have the sexiest hair on the island! *JEALOUS*

Seriously? If I was in a plane crash and trying to survive on an island (nevermind the smoke monster, Others, creepy French woman, creepy Dead/Not Dead people, Darma Initiative…etc) I would want my hair to be as fabulous as Kates, or Juliets, or ANY of the crash-ed people. I mean, I know they scavanged stuff from the plane, and then went down the hatch and got even more supplies…but was hair gel and flat irons really a part of that? Doubtful.

Nevertheless…most of them still have fabulous hair, maybe with the exception of Hurley LOL. I suppose that’s the magic of TV for ya. So I’ve decided to bring you my Top 9 Lost Inspired Hair Care Products… Read more »

Color Correction Without Adding Damage?

Before & After pics of Color Correction Using Shampoo

"Only Paolo can take THIS...and THIS...and give you...a Princess." ~The Princess Diaries

CEST POSIBLE!!!

Okay, so here’s the story. My Kid Sister loves changing her hair on the fly. One week she’s a brunette, the next a blonde, the next she’s black. I too love to change my hair color as the mood strikes. I’ve gone from brunette to highlights to blonde to blonde with pink to red to brunette again to black with racoon stripes back to brunette. There are, however, three MAJOR differences about our hair changing habbits:

1. I get my hair color in a salon…she does hers at home from boxes and bottles
2. I color my hair every three or four months at the most frequent…she colors her hair without waiting so much as a week in between sometimes
3.  I take better care of my hair, using quality products, leave-in keratin treatment, deep conditioning treatment and heat protecting spray…she has started using a better daily conditioner…but…that’s about it

So her hair is qutie damaged. The last time her and I spoke about her hair, I told her she needed to stop dying it and let it grow out so she could cut off the super nasty parts. But impatience and boredom Read more »
