Split Ends | Damaged Hair

Icky Split Ends

How to Know if you have a Split Ends Problem/ The Billy Murray Status:

Your alarm clock goes off. You get out of bed and trudge to the bathroom. You look in the mirror and grab the ends of your hair, which are frazzled, frayed, and fried. You then say “oh man… I need a trim…”. You get a trim. Two weeks later…

WAKE UP! Does this sound like you? Are you constantly looking at your drab ends and getting your hair trimmed? Well, it’s good that you’re getting your hair trimmed to try to keep it healthy, but obviously that isn’t working, which can be especially frustrating when you’re Read more »

Hard Water Times

Sooooo…. here’s the story.

After two years and three months my boyfriend and I have split. The result? Me living with my mother again, which hasn’t happend in about 4 years.
Also simultaneously occuring? My parents divorce. It’s interesting times these… 2010 sure is kicking off with a bang…

Staying with my mom again isn’t so bad… well … except for one thing. HARD WATER. Oh. My. Goodness.

The first day I’m down there I go to take a shower… and my hair literally HURT. I shampoo my hair once… and it just doesn’t feel good. I shampoo again… and it feels WORSE. So I throw on a healthy, well, more than healthy, does of conditioner. I mean, I REALLY put too much conditioner on. I wait my 3-5 minutes, and then rinse. NO IMPROVEMENT. No seriously. It was like not only the world, but now also my hair Read more »

Shiny, Strong Hair…the Easy Way

Everyone seems to think that Shiny, Healthy, Strong hair is either unobtainable or extremely difficult to get. We’ve all seen the shampoo commercials with beautiful women that have AMAZING hair. I’m sure I’m not the only person who doubts the hair models actually use the brand of shampoo they’re selling. In fact, I’d bet all my money that they’ve never ever used the shampoo they’re selling.

The fact is, unless you’re part of the extremely small percentage of women who have naturally healthy, shiny, amazing hair (and if you fall into this category I’m extremely envious), you’re going to need Read more »

Lost Starts Tonight = More Sexy Beach Hair

Kate & Sawyer - New Season of Lost Starts TONIGHT!

Kate & Sawyer DEF have the sexiest hair on the island! *JEALOUS*

Seriously? If I was in a plane crash and trying to survive on an island (nevermind the smoke monster, Others, creepy French woman, creepy Dead/Not Dead people, Darma Initiative…etc) I would want my hair to be as fabulous as Kates, or Juliets, or ANY of the crash-ed people. I mean, I know they scavanged stuff from the plane, and then went down the hatch and got even more supplies…but was hair gel and flat irons really a part of that? Doubtful.

Nevertheless…most of them still have fabulous hair, maybe with the exception of Hurley LOL. I suppose that’s the magic of TV for ya. So I’ve decided to bring you my Top 9 Lost Inspired Hair Care Products… Read more »

Color Correction Without Adding Damage?

Before & After pics of Color Correction Using Shampoo

"Only Paolo can take THIS...and THIS...and give you...a Princess." ~The Princess Diaries

CEST POSIBLE!!!

Okay, so here’s the story. My Kid Sister loves changing her hair on the fly. One week she’s a brunette, the next a blonde, the next she’s black. I too love to change my hair color as the mood strikes. I’ve gone from brunette to highlights to blonde to blonde with pink to red to brunette again to black with racoon stripes back to brunette. There are, however, three MAJOR differences about our hair changing habbits:

1. I get my hair color in a salon…she does hers at home from boxes and bottles
2. I color my hair every three or four months at the most frequent…she colors her hair without waiting so much as a week in between sometimes
3.  I take better care of my hair, using quality products, leave-in keratin treatment, deep conditioning treatment and heat protecting spray…she has started using a better daily conditioner…but…that’s about it

So her hair is qutie damaged. The last time her and I spoke about her hair, I told her she needed to stop dying it and let it grow out so she could cut off the super nasty parts. But impatience and boredom Read more »
