Shiny, Strong Hair…the Easy Way

Everyone seems to think that Shiny, Healthy, Strong hair is either unobtainable or extremely difficult to get. We’ve all seen the shampoo commercials with beautiful women that have AMAZING hair. I’m sure I’m not the only person who doubts the hair models actually use the brand of shampoo they’re selling. In fact, I’d bet all my money that they’ve never ever used the shampoo they’re selling.

The fact is, unless you’re part of the extremely small percentage of women who have naturally healthy, shiny, amazing hair (and if you fall into this category I’m extremely envious), you’re going to need more than just shampoo and conditioner to get your hair Shiny and Strong.

Shine Spray
Adding shine can be as easy as using a shine spray! Hello! Why make things more difficult than they actually are? If all you’re looking for is a little extra sparkle, then this is definitely what you need. And, Shine Sprays are super cost effective. My favorite is Paul Brown Hawaii’s Shine Amplifier. It adds shine and it smells amazing! NOTE: This is the BEST option for you ladies with Fine Hair, the other options listed below MIGHT addd too much weight to your hair. If you have fine hair and want more shine, try a shine spray FIRST.

Shine Serum
Shine serums do more than shine sprays. A serum will actually help to smooth the hair cuticle, which imparts shine. This will also help to tame frizzy, unruly hair. Definitely a one-two punch! BY Framesi Slush Gloss is a favorite among many, as it can be applied to wet or dry hair and can be mixed with other styling products to achieve just about any look.

Argan Oil
Have you not heard about Argan Oil yet? If you haven’t, you’re probably living under a rock. Argan oil is the new “it” thing in the hair care world. It will help smooth down the hair cuticle, add shine, tame frizz, and condition your hair! To find out more, visit our amazing Argan Oil page.

Deep Conditioning Treatments
So if you hair is lacking shine because of damage, this is what you need. Hair that is healthy and well taken care of should, naturally, be shiny. If your hair is lacking shine because it is damaged, either by heat styling tools or chemical processes, you must first address the problem which is preventing your hair from being shiny. A good deep conditioning treatment can do a number of things for your hair. Click here if you want to find the

We LOVE Heat!
Typically, people say you should avoid heat because it damages hair. This is mostly true. However, heat helps to open up the hair cuticle, which will allow a hair product to penetrate deeper into the hair shaft. This will double or even triple the effectiveness of any product you use and the effects will last longer as well! To really boost shine, apply Argan Oil or a Deep Conditioning Treatment to your hair. Then, take a towel and stick it in the microwave until it is hot. Cover your hair with a plastic bag (like from the grocery store), then wrap the hot towel (be careful it’s not too hot so you don’t burn yourself), over the plastic bag around all of your hair. Let it sit for ten to 15 minutes, then when your hair is completely cool, rinse your hair and style as usual! Doing this once a week will help to heal your hair and really boost its natural shine.
